Anna McMurran

What I’m About:

I’m a graphic designer who’s always been drawn to the ways we make sense of the world visually. I’m endlessly curious and always eager to explore different ways to create something. Whether that’s diving into print production, building out digital layouts, or experimenting with hands-on methods like risograph, painting, printmaking, and collage. I love a challenge and thinking critically to break down complex ideas and reframe them visually in ways that feel both thoughtful and approachable. I love learning new techniques and pushing my process forward, because each project brings something different to the table. I want the tools I bring to be just as flexible and thoughtful as the ideas behind them.

I’ve always had a strong eye for hierarchy and structure, especially when it comes to typography and layout. There’s something satisfying about making order out of complexity. I enjoy taking a lot of moving parts and turning them into something that feels intuitive, clear, and human. I’m also a firm believer that good design doesn’t have to shout to be effective. Sometimes it makes a bold statement, sometimes it’s a subtle nudge, but either way, I want the work I create to resonate on some level, even in the smallest moments.

Beyond design, I find inspiration in a lot of different places: spontaneous travel, new environments, walks with my dog Frannie, and hanging out with the friends and family who keep me grounded. I think those experiences, those off-screen, real-life moments, shape how I think as a designer. They help me stay open, adaptable, and honest in the work I do.

At the end of the day, my goal is to create design that feels purposeful, rooted in curiosity, crafted with care, and built to connect. Whether I’m working on a brand identity, a publication, or a system of visual storytelling, I approach each project with intention, adaptability, and a commitment to making something meaningful. And I’m always excited to see where the next challenge will take me!
